Ever wonder how someone studies, how they look at the world or how they retain visual information? š¤
Well this is a deep dive of the study methods I've used and forged throughout my personal and professional career! I'll be taking you behind the scenes on my process to help you retain information, break down complex subjects like hands and overall create an enjoyable experience while developing your visual library. These methods have been instrumental in nurturing my creativity. I can't help but wish I had this perspective earlier in life. Which is why I created this tutorial now to help others.
I know studying can be boring, but changing old habits or adding a different perspective can help!
ā° Avoid mindless studying and Elevate Your Study Game š
What will you learn? š§
Each section has different approaches to studying and utilizes various visualizing techniques.
- Learn how to break down the most intricate subjects into bite-sized, comprehensive pieces. (The Organic Grid)
- Infuse your learning process by discovering memory-boosting techniques that will help you retain information effectively. (Memory Sketch)
- Develop your visual library (Dissection)
- Study detailed pieces while ignoring the proportions (Blurry Guardrails)
- Advice on developing your Voice/Style from one artist to another. (The Cake)
- How I discovered the seedling of my style (Bonus chapter and Memory sketch)
My main goal is to share how I studied throughout my career and how this helped cultivate the style many of you recognize on social media. It's the knowledge I wish I had during my younger years as an aspiring artist.
FAQ'S, Is this for me? š«µš¼
- This video suits All Skill Levels, and it's primarily about your openness to learning the approaches of another Artist. Even my Jaded homies may find some sparks of inspirations or at least have a good laugh at my corny jokes. š¤”
- If you're a beginner, I recommend taking this slow. It might be overwhelming during some parts especially Memory Sketch or The Organic Grid and you might not understand things right off the Sammy Sosa Bat, so take breaks. Some of the topics may tailor more to intermediate folks, but do not get discouraged my friend!
- I recommend taking notes and not drawing as you follow along. This will open up another pathway to retaining information.
- Do I need photoshop? Nope, but it helps since I'll be using Photoshop for recording purposes. However, Use any drawing software or traditional mediums.
- This course doesn't dive deeply into the fundamentals. Those topics will come in a later course, this course offers a unique experience that formed the foundation of my creativity.
- Lastly, this course does NOT contain my traditional graphite shading methods. That style came about through the studying techniques you'll find in this course. Which is why I decided to share these first! Stay tuned for the next tutorial.
